Yes.

Oh, you mean during a merge (as opposed to a checkout or update)?
There is a bug there, duly noted, and likely to be fixed soon.

That particular bug has appeared and disappeared once or twice in the
past, as I recall -- evidently the current code is a touch fragile in
that area.

There is a difference between Arch which has that "inexact patching bug"
(which will be fixed) and systems that, at their core, aren't built for
this sort of thing in the first place.   To overlook that difference
is to risk spreading FUD.
