I looks like you are _not_ using ecgs compiler. One of the first
lines in your enclosed make.log is:
gcc driver version 2.7-B19 executing gcc version 2.7-97r2aBeta
Whereas my make.log announces:
gcc version egcs-2.90.27 980315 (egcs-1.0.2 release)
I am not certain that this is the root of the problem, however if you
want to match the environment I have:
o get The compiler and assembler for egcs-1.0.2 release from:
ftp://ftp.xraylith.wisc.edu/pub/khan/gnu-win32/cygwin32/b19-releases/
egcs-1.0.2-cygb19.tar.gz
gas-980303-cygb19.tar.gz
o download these into d:\tmp
o fire up a bash shell. You should have a cygnus short cut running
D:/Cygnus/B19/cygnus.bat in your start/program menu (use it!)
% cd D:/Cygnus/B19/include
% mv g++ g++-b19
% cd D:/Cygnus/B19
% tar zxf D:/tmp/gas-980303-cygb19.tar.gz
% tar zxf D:/tmp/egcs-1.0.2-cygb19.tar.gz
