ok, now i got to see it and print it out. it's beautiful. :)
in fact, i printed out both the mup version and the lilypond version
and set them side-by-side, with the result that i have to stick by my
contention that lilypond's output is far superior in quality, though
at this time lacking in some features, such as 1st and 2nd endings.

the important differences, though, are that anyone can add features to
lilypond, and that you can be sure such features will be added because
so many people are using lilypond on a regular basis and will
contribute them as they find they need them in their own work. i
don't mean to put down the mup author(s) since i don't know anything
about them, but with a commercial product, the best you can do is ask
them to implement something and hope they do it.
