Apologies. My question about format was a bit stupid. Of course I want
to integrate the musical examples with the text and put it all in .ps
format. I believe that others have expressed an interest (even during my
brief haunt [even before I could get this message finished] :-)) in
doing
that very thing. It is not a minor
consideration IMHO that the document could serve as an example itself as
well as a forum for the presentation of examples. So, an even dumber
question: Which of the many *linux* WP's out there could do the best job
with the least difficulty? Because the output is for common laser
printers, it is desirable that most of the text and music be in two
columns, but not necessarily all. Has *anyone* had any success by any
means other than the quick and dirty (scanning a pasteup), and with
what? Are the tools to do this available at this time? Which are they?
Will better ones be available soon? Which are they? I am not such a
purist that I wouldn't use anything under any kind of free license as
long as it didn't involve a Microsoft product, but I would prefer open
source over wordperfect 8.
