Folks,
I have been struggling with a sorta on-line banking
system from one of the large brokerage houses. We have a couple of
checking accounts, credit card and a non-trivial sized IRA pension fund.
They have made a dog's dish of it. I have written just enough code
to unscramble some of it, but they have made fundamental mistakes
that can not be resolved unilaterally. However, I have a MySQL
database that is useful to compare historical positions and track
my assets allocations.
The checking account badly need database discipline.
The point of all this is that I am actively looking forward
to using GNUCash and will be kibitzing your specs and progress.
In particular, I will be looking to use daily downloads of my accounts
into a usable and extensible financial system.
First, I hope to get them to recognize that one of their wealthy
customers is not a Basidiomycetes.
