And certainly, there are lots of folks who don't upgrade every release, particularly on Linux, and especially those using an LTS OS. (some may even still be using 2.x!)

On the other hand Github paints a somewhat different picture: 5314 Windows
downloads, 7208 for Mac-Arm and 2022 for Mac-Intel. Combine the two and
Windows is still a bit ahead: 12,500 for Windows vs. 10,600 for Mac.

BTW, I need to clarify that the 1400 Mac downloads from Sourceforge are for
both Arm (1200) and Intel (200).

But wait! The downloads section of www.gnucash.org <http://www.gnucash.org/> is
still pointing at the GnuCash 5.14 downloads. Since the release of 5.15, there have
been more than 24,000 downloads of GnuCash 5.14 for Windows, 4890 for Mac-Arm, and
1600 for Mac-Intel. Add those in and it’s 36,500 Windows vs. 17,100 Mac, so a little
more than 2:1 in favor of Windows.
