Hi Will,

I noticed a similar statement by Ars in a reply he made to John Ralls:

--> "It is free, and the current Cashdera feature set is intended to remain free."

The two red flags in that sentence are "current" and "intended". Ars basically says that *future* features almost certainly won't be free, and quite likely (in the future) even the *current* features will cost you money too.

Essentially, this is asking for folks here to provide free QA testing for this Cashdera beta software.  And once you get hooked on it (if you really want to keep using it), you're going to have to start paying for it.  What a deal!  No thanks.

Tom

The developer of Cashdera clearly states repeatedly that "its current features are
free to use". That is a very clear signal that the app is being released as a teaser
to get people to pay to update to the non-free version.

I think it is fine for this forum to include discussions about FOSS (Free Open
Source Software) additions or enhancements to Gnucash. I don't want to see this
forum used for commercial promotions.

Just my personal opinion,
Will
