I like either of these two suggestions... I like knowing about potentially
useful software. I also note that following a slew of posts here, discussion
of those recently announced software has apparently moved to the correct forums.

I've been in other forums where the discussions became overrun with everyone's next best mouse trap. "I made a
new..." was the title of basically every other post, even if each of the body of the posts include something like,
"please discuss over here..." Also the "please discuss over here" never seemed to work. Then there
are reply messages, "You are supposed to discuss that topic over there..."

The solution I've seen is to open a second forum for the people who want to
discuss ancillary utilities.

I think brief announcements of other software are OK but that the
announcement should include a line saying where discussion should take
place that is off-list.? I want to know what is out there but don't want
this list pulled too far off topic.

I have had another request for publication of information regarding
other software which could be used in conjunction with Gnucash.

So far this is on hold.

Following the previous use of this list to advertise other software I
am considering a total ban so there would be no leniency according to
licence eg GPL passes and proprietary is not allowed.

Please feel free to comment.
