There is an immense legacy of Goans in early modern photography, from the earliest days of practice in India (via Narayan Daji Lad and many other pioneers), in the homeland itself (where the Goan "family archive" is one of the great 19th and early 20th century treasure troves), and then across the Indian Ocean tradeways especially in East Africa. It's a huge area for study + research, which has not been touched at all.
