It is a dilema that India faces. We have to flirt with either Russia or the US like Pakistan has. Russian planes like the US Starfighter are "WIDOWMAKERS" and I do not trust them. Russian planes like the MIG 29 are reliable if they are flown by superior pilots. The European Airbus is a very reliable plane if flown by competent pilots. But they have crashed due to inexperience. India should completely overhaul its fleet if the US are prepared to sell us their heavy weapons but we have to lic.. Ar.. to get these planes. In the case if Israel that uses US hardware, their training and operation are first class. Hence we do not hear of plane mishaps. We have to eradicate the mindset about flying our planes like we do our cars. Indian cars are reliable (not comparable though to foreign cars) but it is the pilots that drive like fools. Hence we have so many accidents on our highways in India. Remember the accident that killed Faleiro's wife in Delhi. When will we ever learn? Our cars and buses go 'kaput', our trains, and now our airplanes. I should learn to walk before I take Air India to fly to India.
