Marlon, few newspapers will publish letters to the editor without identification of the author. so much for anonymous posting. the word 'bum' refers to a lazy person. inappropriate here, but not synonymous with harlot. within the context of some people wanting to help rehabilitate prostitutes. IMO, only people who *seek* help should be helped. certainly, tax payer money should not be spent on bums. commercialization of sex: singapore has it, yes, but a hundred other nations don't. besides as in your alcohol prohibition example of the US of the 20's, what absolute worth can we assign to singapore's example ? the greatest flaw in the arguments is that they have no foundation in fundamental principles. commercial sex will possibly make marriages redundant. A marriage is a long term commitment to a woman. it being very expensive to support children, specially on the emotional, physical fronts. this cost can be seen with single parents. strenthening commercial sex will destabilize society.
