Is it the years you spent in Texas or your engineering background that has given you this black & white view of the world. Colour vision in humans is not as vibrant as in some species of birds but allows us to see not only shades of grey (via rods) but the visible spectrum of the rainbow (via cones). Your question begs a yes/no answer to a question that has implications in the non-visible spectrum of infrared and ultraviolet as well. The crime (murderous death of an innocent victim) is the culmination of many factors that have to be investigated on a case by case basis. 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth' system of justice, which you are advocating, fortunately died an ignorant death long ago, except in some fundamental regions of the Middle East and Southern US. Any human being should be on the side of JUSTICE, not blind revenge. The death penalty has been proven to be an ineffective deterrant so instituting public crucifixions of convicted murderers only adds to the ranks or morbid voyeurs looking for a real life 'Passion of the Christ'. This biblical justice appears to be a proven deterrent, all for the greater good of our beloved Goa. I hope the frothing mouths and the gasping for breath as the murderers die on the cross, deter prospective murderers from committing such heinous crimes in Goa. You have only one question to answer: You are either on the side of these condemned murderers on your are on the side of the peace-loving Goans who want to exterminate such horrendous crimes in their state ! Its that simple - you do not need a extensive, prolonged debate on this issue of murderers rights. Which side are you on ? Best Regards, Dr. Carmo D'Cruz, Indian Harbour Beach, Florida. -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ . _______________________________________________ Goanet mailing list Goanet@lists.goanet.org http://lists.goanet.org/listinfo.cgi/goanet-goanet.org
