Message from Kevin Saldanha ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) :
Tucked away in the daily digest of the newsbots' results on Goa was this
nugget. The comments of Mario Menezes speaks volumes to the influence of
the Portuguese gastronomy on Goan palates.

Vegetarianism appears to be despised by Goan Catholics as archaic but
recent trends in cardio-vascular disease statistics (usually attributed to
excessive meat-eating) put South Asian men in the highest risk category.

That combined with the intake of fibre, which contributes immensely to
colon health, makes vegetarianism a selfishly healthy choice.

>From an economic point of view, animal proteins are the most expensive way
of providing nutritional protein.
