Dear Eddie,
One of my colleagues, Dr. Pragna Patel, now at the
University of Southern California, has just conducted
a molecular genetics study on various communities in
India. I helped her in her quest to obtain samples
from several Goan families. She has not yet published
the findings. I will let you know what they are as
soon as she does that. However, her study is by no
means focussed on Goa, and would not be extensive and
comprehensive enough to draw clear-cut conclusions
regarding the genetics of Goans, per se.
