I no longer live in India -- only visit occasionally but haven't heard of
"Madras" lately. I think it is now caled Chennai. So the term "madrassis"
in my humble opinion is obsolete and its pejorative connotation (I sure
thought it was so growing up in India) should be relegated to the dustbin of
history... ;--)
