Dear Editor/s in Goa, Probably some of you ( Editors) may please publish it for the public view.Thanks.
This is in connection with the Degree conferred to Mrs.Smriti Irani, a HRD Minister in BJP Government by Yale University at New Haven, Connecticut in US on June 19, 2013 to complete a six-day leadership program with Yale faculty. There was a huge controversy earlier, that she was undergraduate when she was sworn in as Minister. And now she claims that she has Degree from this University. ( refer Herald dt 11.8.2014). I must remind people of Goa that it is very easy to get this kind of Degrees abroad but with difficulty in India unless you bribe somebody. There are people who got their degrees within short duration. Do not ask me how to get it. Even I have Diplomas and Certificates from NORWAY when I have undergone a Government training on NORAD AID exchange program in Oslo-Norway in 1986 deputed by NIO, and that the Norwegian Agency has issued me not even one but three Diplomas from various international organisations and Institution where I have undergone the training. Do you think these are valid in India? This is a million dollar question how people are conferred Degrees and PhD's abroad. Stephen Dias Retd from NIO D.Paula Date: 11.8.2014
