Another pro-Portuguese dumbo says that BC It is my personal opinion that "mere re-registration in Lisbon of births taken place in Goa prior to 19th December, 1961 does not necessarily mean that one becomes a Portuguese citizen." Seems this guy is allegedly nationality-blind. He didn't care to consider the Times of India story which says that the "Portuguese Act of 2006" gave a person a Portuguese citizen if he/she registers his/her birth in Portugal. These guys only know to find fault with others and make their Portuguese passions fly on many forums. If the person was well versed in Portuguese law he could have said the TIme story is wrong to say so. I have requested that only those who know the laws, preferably of both Portugal and India, to give their opinions and if there's a way to come out of this situation. So far none has done so. Legaly viable way is what is looked for. Not one's passions and rhetoric. It's a different matter if Portugal has granted ite benevolence to Goans and if there are no jobs in Goa. One must take the current situation and see if the 40,000 odd people holding Portuguese-passport, many of them living in Goa, can retain their Indian citizenship. As I said, await for the centre's decision. Or, if someone can think of a way out, please explain the method. Dumbos would do well if they keep their opinions to themselves.
