I remember those heady days just like it were yesterday!

Ulhas Buyao & I were born same day: 21 June, 1944.

When we were growing up there was no instant communication
as we have now.

We used to wish each other as close to the day as possible.

On one of those days, when Channeache raati was reigning supreme
on the tense political sphere, Ulhas drew up in Loutulim, pillipned
on a motorcycle, drenched.

We were all gathered on our balcao: Shaker Bandhari, Hogo de Sousa,
Erasmo,Aurobindo Martins dos Barros the lot.

Hardly onto the steps, he obliged rendering the poem. Encores followed
and he obliged copiously.

In lieu of his "other voice" Shanker filled in optimally, even, perhaps,
complimenting the original duet.
