Hi Folks, I am from Nachinola -- my Grandmother, Leopoldina Sequeira e Souza, was from Arrarim, Saligao (next to Dr Jerry Saldanha's house -- now in ruins) -- My sister, Isabelle, is married to Frank Vaz of Donvaddo, Saligao.
Ada D'Cruz, are you originally from Nachinola? -- We have Manuel Francis D'Cruz (his house is next to the cemetery) who had started St Xavier's School at Moira -- any relation of him.? Other famous people -- Dr Jose D'Souza and his son, Dr Silverio D'Souza and opposite their house was Dr Antonino D'Souza, whose grandson, Dr Noellan D'Souza, is now a well known eye specialist, practicing in Panjim -- Dr Benedict D'Souza was also from Nachinola (house at opposite corner of the play ground in front of our Church) though he practised in Uccassim and Mapuca -- Msgr Willie Nazareth is now in charge of the Marriage Court in Bombay -- his brother, Dr Albert Nazareth died about a fortnight back -- Among musicians we have Lino Correa and his sons, Robert (pianist), Louis (cellist) -- Benjamin and Edward Martyres were well known in Calcutta for their bakery and boarding house respectively -- Other priests -- Fr Roque Martyres, Fr Jose D'Souza (Dr Silverio's brother) -- My Dad, Anju D'Souza of Burma and Defence Colony, Porvorim and his brother, Gerry D'Souza, Espee Diesel Engineers and G D'Souza & Sons -- Let me know if you want any specific information as I am going down to Goa on the 14th January 2008.
