You sound defensive in your post below. It was an apology, though not quite. I
guess your machismo is in the way. As a supurlo Goenkar, I will accept your
explanation.
The question is: Who took the header "from the message" and elected to place it
on Goanet? If it was you (and that is an IF or applies to anybody who started
it) then it reflects poor judgment. Your explanation is similar to 'there was a
fire outside the theater and I just brought it in into the theater'. You (and
all British Goans) should be strongly protesting the title in the web-link,
instead of giving the title further publicity. I would appreciate if you could
post the e-mail address of the web so that I and Goans across the world could
condemn the web editors for their poor judgment and for disparaging the ethnic
heritage of 2 millon Goans.
Reading Ms. Savage's letter in your new web-link, and her deep dislike for Goa,
the local govt. likely did her a favor by telling her to pack her bags and go
home. So I am not sure why she is complaining so loudly. Something akin to
Scarlett's mother. I am also not sure why the Brit-Goans or anyone else are
sympathetic to her? No one forced her to be a guest in Goa and make it her
second home.
Why cannot the Brits just accept responsibility for making a poor decision in
the first place; instead of passing the buck onto others later on?
