http://goanvoice.org.uk/miningpetition.php --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Santish Helekar: Can anybody living in Karnataka verify from an independent source the authenticity of the facts described in the following report? I tried to check whether any of the facts were actually reported by mainstream Indian national news media online, such as Times of India, NDTV, etc. But I could not find a single such independently filed report. Response: It is only the naive, the ignorant or the presumptous who assume that every act or incident of atrocity, crime, hate, violence, harassment or persecution gets reported in the national media. More often than not crimes against the marginalised, the oppressed, women and minorities go unreported. And especially so if there are no deaths or destruction to property. Justice Saldanha is no run of the mill individual. He is an eminent jurist having graced the Bombay and Karnataka High Courts and whose erudite judgements have drawn acclaim. He has in an open letter to the Home Minister pointed out the atrocities committed against the christians in Karnataka. If the poster has doubts about the authencity of any of the acts stated therein, he is free to write to the Chief Minister of Karnataka to institute a Judicial inquiry or request a CBI inquiry. He is also free to write to the Union Home Minister or the National Human Rights Commission or National Minorites Commission. I am sure he will sooner or later get at the truth. Here are some email ID's if he is serious about his inquiries: National Human Rights Commission: * **covdn...@nic.in, ion...@nic.in*<covdn...@nic.in,%c2%a0%20%c2%a0ion...@nic.in> National Minorites Commission: ro-...@nic.in Chief Minister of Karnataka : c...@kar.nic.in <c...@kar.nic.in%c2%a0> Governor of Karnataka: rb...@vsnl.com P Chidambaram: pchida...@yahoo.co.in. Truth cannot be suppressed for long. Check with L K Advani, as he is finding out after 18 long years. Ask Narendra Modi as he is finding out after 8 years. In the meanwhile, he can peruse the interim report of the Somashekara Commission.and update his knowledge about the situation in Karnataka since the BJP came to power in 2008. http://www.deccanherald.com/content/50256/ban-communal-outfits-panel.html He can also peruse the foll reports which show police complicity in the violence: http://www.hindustantimes.com/News-Feed/karnataka/Police-incited-attacks-on-Christians-Probe/Article1-338819.aspx Regards, Marshall
