It's a concept of having programs needed unionmounted on /System/Index
and by that generating different "view" of that structure depending on
what needs are present, where the need for an application is based on
dependencies, of course. Something like a namespace for that
application.

Those that have looked at it a bit more (and perhaps worked on it) can
probably describe better.
