This happened way back in the days, 40s or 50s. If you search the net you will find the correct information as I did. This event is discussed in the now long out of print book, Japan's New Buddhism. The priest is described there as being an "octogenarian, " meaning he was in his eighties, not sixties. The YMD went to the old priest's home and dragged (literally and eventually carried) him to a cemetery in the middle of the night. He was roughed up and forced to apologize to the tomb of Makiguchi in his underwear. If I recall correctly, the old priest's "crime" was in writing a doctrinal paper stating that the time for Shakabuku was over (but I might be wrong about this). Ikeda, himself, wrote the preface to this book, highly praising it. It was either the first, or one of the first, scholarly works to be done about the Gakkai by an independent source. If anyone is interested, I can post a quote directly from the book, as well as publishing information. It seems everything is focused on the leader and what the leader does..and its almost like Deity worshipping of an aging man..thats my take...Now when it comes to the doctrine that SGI teaches...do you considered it unsound? As far AS The research goes.how can we trust whats on line to be accurate imformation? --- On Thu, 6/3/10, James Noonan <jamesnoonan883@ yahoo.co. uk> wrote: From: James Noonan <jamesnoonan883@ yahoo.co. uk> Subject: Re: [GohonzonForum] Re: [The Bible of Shakubuku] supervised by Taisaku Ikeda, SGI To: GohonzonForum@ yahoogroups. com Date: Thursday, June 3, 2010, 5:13 AM Mr Santiago, As I said before I came across this information on the net about 18 mths ago. I do not remember exactly where it was but I will try to find it again. For all the worried people you speak of or for I suggest they should do their own research on the web all the information is out there. I do not have a vendetta if I had I would have given a link to where the facts of the matter are and would have posted the information 18 mths ago when I found it. Personally I think SGIism is becoming further and further removed from Buddhism and I would like unsuspecting people to be aware of the truth. I feel that people who embrace any religious teaching are searching for the truth. The truth is sometimes ugly, George Bush is a mass murderer, Tony Blair is a war criminal. There are sad truths as well, there is a cure for cancer !! but governments wont allow us to have it because the drug companies are making so much money. Life can be so crap if one does not think for oneself. Forget the phoney guru, Nichiren told you and I we have a Buddahnature. Did you see the excerpts of the Shakubuku Bible posted here by Nancy?
