Reviewing TOS: http://code.google.com/apis/base/terms.html
Section 1.5 states that "...You agree that You will not... (a) modify or obscure the text... You display on your site; or (b) modify, obscure, or otherwise disable the functioning of links to Google or third party websites provided in the Google Base Content." RealBird.com uses Google Base as a data source for their property search service. According to what is seen using their service and the article link below, RealBird provides listings through their service to real estate agents as a private label. This means people visiting the agent's site using RealBird Property Search will never see the link provided in the Google Base Content, or references to the listing agent who submitted the listing. The visitor will only see modified or obscured listings and the agent's information whose site they are visiting. Any text in the description identifying the listing agent is removed by RealBird. For more information, search the page referenced below for the "Private Labeling" section: http://realbird.typepad.com/news/2009/07/listing-syndication-goes-mainstream-with-google-maps.html Can someone please confirm that RealBird IS or IS NOT in violation of the API TOS? My interests are in evaluating how to leverage Google Base for Real Estate. If RealBird is NOT in violation, there are some greater possibilities with utilizing the Google Base API.
