Issue 2375 is definitely the same issue and has a Medium priority. I'm sure
there are others that could be merged with those two as well.

*Re: I would think that your software could work around this by making

This is exactly the workaround we have already implemented for THIS part of
the issue.

*Re: **If you are concerned about detecting changes made by **other clients,
you could poll the upcoming events for the next day or **week to determine
the reminder times. These workarounds are probably **why this is considered
'Low' priority.*

This part of the workaround has these problems:

1) Because reminders are arbitrary amounts of time before their respective
appointments (possibly days or weeks), we would have to retrieve ALL future
appointments from Google during each poll -- not just those for the next day
or week. This would result in a lot of unnecessary processing time, network
bandwidth, Google server processing, etc. since most appointments would not
actually have been updated since the last sync.

2) The polling interval would have to be quite short which would exasperate
all of the problems in #1 above. For example, at 9:15 AM a user adds a
10:00 AM reminder on the same day to an existing appointment on their mobile
phone. If we poll less often than every 45 minutes, the reminder would not
be set in our software in time. The reminder may not even be intended for
the user on the phone, but one or more colleagues back at their office. If
they do not receive the reminder, that's not good.

This issue has been around for 4 years. It is easy to fix. When a reminder
is added, updated, or deleted, change the appointments updated time and
eTag. How hard is that?

I think it is past time to fix this issue.
