As others seem to indicate as well, this is a version issue with Picasa. The web version for linux is the one broken. If you manually update to the windows 3.8 version, and use the wine that comes with Ubuntu (10.10 in my case), it works again, but I have other issues with that version of Picasa, not quite understanding how to transfer all the 17GB in databases (as in: which files apart from the obvious ones). On top of that, Picasa 3.8 also has some nasty error messages but eventually comes up with a window.
