Beware of Google's terms and conditions of use; you can't just go
scraping their data into your own database willy-nilly.

Directions won't give you 'maps' of each street. It gives you
directions between points. That usually means partial streets. Even
if your data points are located at the exact ends of streets, you
might not get what you expect (consider trying to go the "wrong way"
on a one-way street).
If you give a clue as to your actual purpose there might be better
advice. Why do you need to draw streets for users to look at? They
are already drawn on the map tiles.
