I donot think GP Ramachndarn refuses to engage. If he wanted to remain silent, he could have. It is true that he will not answer substantial questions, so is CPI(M). The malayalam sayings 'ariyethraya payaranjazhi', 'adine pattiyakkal' that is the frame work his party and he uses. Instead of commenting on the discussions , he forwarded a green youth member's mail to all of us in the hope to create a panic on 'Thomas Kochery + chengara'.
The logic goes like this 'Delhi Forum is a funded NGO' (It does not matter, how much funding tthey got. It does not matter that their proposals are out in the public. It does not matter that they support people's movements. All what matters is that they are a 'FOREIGN FUNDED NGO.) Delhi forum people went to Chengara/ supported Chengara, so Chengara struggle is invalid. This blaming, branding business is CPI(M)'s trademark. In Nandigram, their allegation was 'BJP-SUCI-Thrinamul-Maoist' alliance. With adivasi movement in Kerala it was again foreign fund, maoism etc. With Chengara, they made a new coinage of maoists, anarchists, feminists, CIA thing. There is no logical reasoning. What they are doing is simply putting together all controversial/ marginal terms together to invalidate the struggle. When this man and his party completely ignores the people's struggle and selectively picking things like 'one Israeli citizen visited pathanamthitta' or someone from Delhi visited there, I am sorry, I dont want to remain with a democracy anxiety. Hell with their politics. I support Jenson's mail, which this GP and Poker claims as abusive. They have no shame, when they are playing this dirty game just because they belong to this fascist party. Let us not have any illusions that CPI(M) or their allies are democratic. We should be ashamed if we expect this party's members to be answerable to anybody. In Kannur they use swords and bombs, In Nandigram they use hired goons to rape even 60 year old women. The CPI(M) intellectuals support all these, and I donot want to see them as separate from their Goondas. If this mail is also an abuse, I am privilaged, I would like to abuse the 'rapist, feudal, fascist' party mouth pieces.
