I've tried this:
Pa(h)ter(h) ( ) de(h) ( )
cae(h)lis(h)(//)(//)(//)(//)(/)De(i)us,(g.) (,)
mi(g)se(g)ré-(f)re(g)
nó-(h)bis.(h) (::)()
But even with that, once you get to a certain amount of
spacing, it messes up the entire line.
How can I insert 2 inches of pure space in the middle of the
line without altering the rendering of the surrounding
chant? Sure, you can insert one or two spaces okay, but not
two inches.

I'm trying to use tabular to line up the lines of my
litany with the chant that Gregorio outputs.
However, on one line I have "Pater de caelis Deus" - and I
need to move "Deus" whilst leaving the previous part of
the score alone.
So I have this:
Pa(h)ter(h) ( ) de(h) ( ) cae(h)lis(h)De(i)us,(g.)
(,) mi(g)se(g)ré-(f)re(g)
nó-(h)bis.(h) (::)()
But if I do this:
Pa(h)ter(h) ( ) de(h) ( ) cae(h)lis(h)(
)De(i)us,(g.) (,)
mi(g)se(g)ré-(f)re(g)
nó-(h)bis.(h) (::)()
it affects the chant before the space!
How can I insert a space there without affecting what
comes before?
