What operating system are you using? Which version are you attempting to
build? Where did you get the sources? What steps did you take to build
and install? What was the output of the build commands?

Following the thread from which I’ve branched this email, I wondered if it
was a PATH issue, so I searched for greciliae.ttf, which resulted in:
/opt/local/share/texmf-local/fonts/truetype/public/gregoriotex/greciliae.ttf
I find nothing in /usr/…/texmf-local/fonts/…/public, nor in my 2014 or 2015
directories. It seems that there has been some funny business in the
placement of files during the build, but I don’t know enough to identify it.

Does it tell you they are different?
If they are different, then tell me the result of the following command:
kpsewhich -var-value TEXMFLOCAL
If they are the same, then there is a problem with the build, so let us
know and we'll try to figure it out.
Actually, if they are the same, try deleting the *.ttf files in the
fonts build directory and build again. If it still doesn't work, then
reply back.
