Regarding the macro-tests.rar:

The obvious thing is that your [em1] is turning off the automatic
custos, so none of the lines following have custos, which of course
changes the spacing.

I actually don't understand why you are using this macro here, since to
force a specific custos you should simply use (f+) instead of (z0).  The
macro is unnecessary.

That said, the forced custos (f+) adds some space before it, which the
clef-change custos (z0) doesn't.  I don't know if the bug is that the
clef-change custos should add a space, or if the forced custos should
not add a space, or even if this is not a bug, so I must defer to Br.
Samuel, who is considerably more familiar than I am with the spacing
code.
