Moving the "add new search" stuff to the sidebar is rather simple and I like the idea. If my glades still work I'll try to do it tonight. But I would suggest not to introduce a "simply gui mode". There is already the "normal mode" and the "expert mode", which is unfortunatly titled "Allow experimentation with low level settings". Do we really need three gui modes?
