I commited everything I got now as i won't have time the following next
2 or 3 days to adjust the code further. What I did to get HSEP assert
was; in nodes.c locate the section where it does:
header_get_feature("hsep", head, &major, &minor);

Remove the if part and as such always enabled HSEP. You'll have it
assert within a few minutes.

If you have a new patch, I will try to find some time to commit them
anyway.

ps. according to ram there were still some endian problems, but I
couldn't find them this soon. I will need to look at those again too.
