It looks fine in the GUI, me too. I want to know how about in the tooltips,
and could you give me xlfd (-efont-* etc), .gtkrc or what locale you ran on. 
If you ran gtkg with ja_JP.UTF-8 using iso10646 fonts, I have no way :-(
