Well, you could discard these from a global post- or pre-filter.

Maybe. The filter is powerful but it's not very intuitive except
for very simple things perhaps. That's also why I didn't implement
discard spam and files without SHA-1s using the filter. This may
look like the better technical approach but from a user's point
of view it would be more difficult to configure. After all, I'm
not a fan of ipfilter.

It's a bit obscure maybe but better than having no status display for
them at all. Of course there's a bug that we don't show a clear status
in the search results for them. So you can't tell whether the browsing
finished or never started for example without looking at the download
display.

It's mostly the same but the transfer method differs that is the results
are delivered over a direct TCP connection instead of routing them through
Gnutella or sending them over UDP.
