I'll do it to support you guys if all it takes is one more report to get
what you need. I HATE NHSTA though. I consider them to be a big, brutish
and incredibly ignorant arm of the government who only accomplishes good by
accident--this one time replacement by Yamaha to be included. If
motorcycling ceases to exist, it will have probably have been in large part
due to the efforts of this organization, on behalf of the insurance
industry. I truly believe that Yamaha cannot be forced to re-engineer this
6 year old product, nor replace the fluid and hoses every two years at
their expense. (I also believe they should not be!) They might just
recall all the units and put them in a crusher--I, for one, do not want a
refund, I want the GTS. A letter to the owners might be nice, but the
mission of the NHSTA is not to preserve our freedoms and do what is
right--they may not stop at forcing a letter. This is a safety issue, but
soooooo what? They can make the argument that riding is a safety issue and
make us all stop that. Sorry for the dissension--I just don't trust
them...
