As David Scheidt stated in his contribution earlier, it is more a matter of Physics; even with the most advanced technology you can't get a DISPLACEMENT boat faster than the maximum speed that is dictated by its length.
Kurt mentioned in his mail his fellow's former RumRunner from the 30'ties that was even faster - but I will bet that this is a glider. And the WWII DDs were faster because they were LONGER! I appreciate Onno's work on the Vehicle of the Week very much and I would like to say him "Thank you!" here. Nevertheless it must be allowed to say if one of the rules in Vehicles he used will break the laws of Physics. It is up to him to adjust the design of the vehicle accordingly or not. And next, it is always up to the GM that will use one of Onno's vehicles to adjust them according to their Campaign needs. In this special case I think it would make sense to have a short notice with the Yacht's design about the maximum speed according to the Laws of Physics compared with that according to Vehicles rules.
