I pause the booksense, let it power itself off while listening to nls books and to date, I haven't lost my place in the books.

Steve, I think it may have something to do with whether you pause the book or just cancel out of it. I have never lost my place while cancelling out of a book, but I've heard of people losing their place if a book is paused and the unit shuts off. Just my thoughts for what it is worth. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Jacobson" <[email protected]>

You are very lucky. For me, the 1.1 upgrade did improve the problems with loosing my place in NLS books, but I am still running into it often. It seems particularly common if switching to other files and back, when turning BlueTooth on and off, and when switching to the SD card and back. However, I still have occasional
loss of place that I have not been able to tie to an event.

I don't say all this just to complain because I know this is being addressed. However, if some people like you are not having these kinds of problems, there might be a variable outside of the software itself, and it would be nice to know what it is. Some of how this problem is exhibited may depend upon patterns of use. For example, I have never yet lost my place if I power off while still playing the book. I would tend to think of this as risk behavior but it seems to be the opposite. Along the same lines, when the BookSense goes off while playing as a result of the sleep timer expiring, I have never lost my place in a book. If you tend to do the same, you might not be as likely to experience the problem. Tell us your secret. <smile>

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

That's good it is keeping its place in text files. It is not doing that on
mine in NLS Talkingbooks.
