Hello chip. Then we have to respectfully agree to disagree. It just
comes down to many differing factors which are obviously affecting some
situations more than others. I'm glad that Bluetooth stereo from your
headphones to your PC has worked great.
have a good day.

Hi Raul,
I have to disagree with your implication that the problems the booksense has
with bluetooth are due to the bluetooth standard. I can listen to stereo
music, at high quality, over my pc's bluetooth connection all day, and never
have a drop out.
I also have reported frequent lockups when trying to use bluetooth, with the
same headsets that work so well with my pc, when I try to use them with the
booksense. and when I can connect, I have frequent dropouts, even on audio
books, and I find the booksense becomes very sluggish in responsiveness.
since I and others have been able to use bluetooth headsets for music
listening with other sources, I can't agree it's the "high band width"
nature of bluetooth, and your implication that it just can't be done.

Hello. This certainly seems to not be the normal behavior. I agree that with
the current firmware, one must use the menu to reach the Bluetooth section
and then turn it on or off, then one must go back into the menu and then
connect with the device. We have seen a few delay issues, which have been
fixed in the new firmware. However I am not seeing Bluetooth lockup problems
with the 1.1 firmware and the two different Sony headphones we have offered.
These are the DR-BT22A and DR-BT101A.
Others subscribed to the list may have the names of other models which work.
The thing everyone needs to realize is that Bluetooth 2.0 and a2dp is very
bandwidth intensive, even more so than the mono phone headset support. So
there are bound to be some delays and sometimes even some disconnects due to
the amount of data being transferred.
If you read reviews of a2dp and stereo Bluetooth headsets, you will find
that not everyone has a positive experience with them and it has zero to do
with accessible technologies. On the other hand, many are having a positive
experience. So one has to read between the lines when reading reviews.
Me personally, even though the Bluetooth supports stereo, I usually don't
listen to music this way because there is some static from time to time.
This is especially more noticeable during quiet parts of the music. However
I can listen to audio books just fine because I don't care that much about
the stereo quality. However if a little static is not enough to ruin your
listening enjoyment, then the stereo works fine.
We are going to see if HIMS can add support for mono connections which don't
use as much bandwidth and that would be perfect for audio books since most
would want to listen to them in mono anyway.
Many thanks.

Well it has been my experience that the Sony does not work with the
Bookscence. I gave up on it for now. Maybe they will address some of
the Bluetooth issues of not reliable pairing with this upcoming
firmware release. It is my suspision that it was the constant
rebooting and Bluetooth issues that caused me to have to send back my
first Bookscense so I just am not using the Bluetooth. It is not worth the
aggrevation.

I was wondering if the Sony blue tooth headset that is referred to on
the G.W. Micro knowledge base is the only Bluetooth headset that
works with the Booksense?
Or are there certain specs that the Bluetooth headset must meet to
work with the BookSense?
Could someone please let me know. I may be getting a Bluetooth
headset and I'd like to see if I can get one that will work with both
my Nokia N86 and the BookSense.
Thank you
