Hello. From many people's experience, using an SD card reader has been
traditionally faster than using the BookSense, or other USB device
directly. If this is not the case with your computer, that's all good.
The discussion of which is faster and which is slower is rather silly
and brings to mind a, "mine is bigger" than yours," contest which is
rather pointless to keep debating. On the 2 systems I've tried, I can
usually copy many files faster if I copy them directly to a card via a
card reader instead of copying them to the SD card while it's inserted
in the BookSense. The same is true for Victor Reader Stream users and
with many camera users. So regardless of your speeds, it doesn't mean
anything is wrong with anyone's systems just because individual
experiences may be different.
Many thanks.

Must be, but if you think there is really a big difference, I won't argue about
it. I was just asking her because I don't have that problem.

Then there must be something wrong with your computer. You must be using USB
1.X ports because with 2.0 your incorrect.

For the simple reason, using a card reader makes the transfers much faster.

Why do you use the card reader to transfer files to the booksense? USB works
just fine on the booksense, even with Apple computers.

Activating the BookSense is easy. You just download the software from Audible,
connect the BS with the long USB cable, go to devices in Audible Manager and
choose activate. The only inconvenience is connecting the BookSense to the PC.
I always transfer files using a card reader.

Hi all.
Just to clarify. A while back, on another list, it was mentioned that in order
to play an audible book on the book sense or any other player used to play NLS
books the book had to be converted. That is why I asked. I didn't/don't plan
on doing anything illegal to play a book on one of these players etc. I love
my book sense and the bard sight to much to jeopardize anything. *smile*
I'll try activating my book sense as an audible player later. Thanks for
letting me know that had to be done first. Once done, you could just paste the
audible books in the audio books folder right?

Jeremiah 29:11-14 (Amplified Bible)
11For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord,
thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in
your final outcome.
12Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will
hear and heed you.
13Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity]
and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.(A)
14I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you from
captivity and gather you from all the nations and all the places to which I
have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from
which I caused you to be carried away captive.
