Raul,
I'm sure that GW Micro is listening to user requests. What I'm not sure of is how well HIMS, who actually does the work of implementation, is listening. For example, if GW Micro sends a message to HIMS stating that text entry and independent volume settings for voices and playback should be in the next major firmware update, will it be done? Or, on the other hand, can you just suggest to HIMS what you would like to see in the next major firmware update based on what you have heard from the users?

I think it would be helpful to the users to see a complete list of changes to the firmware since the release of the BookSense as well as a list of the most requested features that have not yet been implemented.

Gary, we have listened, and we have added features which people have
asked for. Just because 100% of the requested features were not added it
does not mean no one is listening. If you like, I would be more than
happy to provide you with a list of changes and features which were
added as the firmware has progressed from 1.0 to 2.1.

Many thanks, and as always, keep your positive messages coming.

Direct entry of radio frequencies is just one more feature that should
have been included from the initial release of the BookSense, along with
a method of text entry for searches, renaming files, etc. The Book Port
Plus has 3 different methods of entering text. After more than a year
since its release, the BookSense has none.

I wonder just how much programming time HIMS dedicates to the BookSense
compared to their far more expensive notetakers. Will we ever see any
of the features we've requested from the first, such as setting
independent volume levels for the menu voice and playback and the
capability of listening to Overdrive books and other DRM-protected files?

A period would not be necessary. It would be easy enough to ignore the
decimal similar to telephone banking or using an ABM.

I've given this a little more thought, which I should have done
before I sent the last message. Since there is no "period" or
"point" key, perhaps that could be omitted. In other words, if you
wanted 93.4, you could just put in 934. Alternatively, they could
use the "number" key for the "point" key in that particular operation.
