Is there going to be a new firmware release soon? I went to install 2.1 and discovered I had already installed it in April. The build date says March 9. I'm very anxious to install the updated firmware. I am most anxious for a solution to the volume problem, and also a little more power configured into the alarm clock -- user supplied ring tones, the ability to set multiple alarms. I know this would take a little programming, but not really that much -- if you have a part time job opening at GWMicro, I'd be glad to slip that functionality in...*smile* Happy listening. I am excited every time I use the bookport as I waited a long time for the nls player and finally decided to buy this little unit instead. Take care. --le

Raul, I'm sure that GW Micro is listening to user requests. What I'm not sure of is how well HIMS, who actually does the work of implementation, is listening. For example, if GW Micro sends a message to HIMS stating that text entry and independent volume settings for voices and playback should be in the next major firmware update, will it be done? Or, on the other hand, can you just suggest to HIMS what you would like to see in the next major firmware update based on what you have heard from the users? I think it would be helpful to the users to see a complete list of changes to the firmware since the release of the BookSense as well as a list of the most requested features that have not yet been implemented.
