I tried both ways and still can't get it to work. I have one perhaps silly
question: The booksense doesn't have an attitude sensor -- I mean so it can
tell when it is tilted sidways-- right? I am wondering if it is trying to do
like some cell phones do, which is to rotate the arrow keys functions when
the phone is rotated.
Anyway, it's probably a dumb question, but in this particular book it is not
working.
Thanks.

I hthink you might have it backwards. The left/right arrows change the
increment you can move, and the up/down arrows will move to the time
option where you can use the left/right arrows to move by the time
increment that you set. If that makes sense. Since these are audio
recorded books, you won't be able to spell the words or move by letter
like you can in text based books.
