Robert,
You are mistaken, the IPod touch, IPhone, Ipad, as well as the Mac
all work
with Braille displays. As an IPhone user myself, using it with a Braille
display far surpasses my experience of using a PackMate and a
VoiceSense. I
understand that a touch screen isn't for everyone but by the same
token, the
"ghetto over priced note takers for the blind are also not for everyone.

The average blind person cannot afford any of the adaptive products
available. But we still need them one way or another.
The iPod is nothing like a note taker. It has no braille display
which
many blind people need and cannot afford.. Your hearing goes south,
what
good is the iPod then.

I can't see how the average blind person can aford to buy a notetaker?
They cost so much money! This is what attracted me to the Ipod touch.
After listening to several podcasts on how voiceover works, all of the
things you can do with it, I said to myself, I got to have one. And
now I
do.

I roo want such a device, like the Braille Sense Plus.
Unfortunately,
its way out of my reach and I have been unable to get grants for one.
But the fact that HIMS will be taking over from GW Micro does not
worry
me. It wont affect my chances of getting a BSP in any way and my
BookSense will work just fine.
And having a direct line to HIMS may be more productive too tho the
likes of Raul will be missed.

No, the Ipod wouldn't meet my needs. I want the computer and the
braille
display to be in one unit.
