Subject: RE: the new micro laptops

Ok, One, I posted back then, that this was just a way to increase
batterytime, and only should be done if you don't care about the
warranty. Plus, if you know what you are doing to take the screen off
your self go for it, but if not seek a shop that knows what they doing
to do it for you. Also, I stated that you must know how to restore the
laptop without sighted help as well.

Now as far as using function key and f key to disabled the screen is all
good, but, not all models will keep the monitoroff all the time after a
reboot or power off. Plus, most of these net books have a V G A port,
to hook up a normal monitor. So even with the screen tooken off, it can
still be hooked up to a screen.

Somebody said that the net book is not powerful enough. Actually.
Newegg has one that would play warcraftwith no problem and runs vista on
top of that for less then 700 bucks.

If you buy something cheap it's going to run cheap, if you pay extra it
will do more. And if you look at specs before buying you can save
yourself a lot of trouble on what is the better buy.

I'm already in the process of getting me a Net book as we speak. Since
I already have a Bluetooth keyboard and head set. This will make a good
note taker for the price.

I also noticed that a lot of these net books come with only 1 gig of
ram. If you check things out, sometimes these net books can have the ram
upgraded to two gigs of ram.

Also, check with the model your getting to find out if it can have a
bigger battery, before buying as you may be able to increase the run
time from normal 6 to 8 hours to 12 to 14hours, or be able to buy
another battery real cheap.

Matt.
