Those old TalkingBook players were magnificent!

I believe they were made by Webcore.

They were bound in leather and the audio on them was wonderful.

They were HiFi of Course.

They only thing I didn't like about them was the heavy tone arm.

Hi Sunshine and list,

These old bulky tube players were probably used before you were born
unless you are my age (grin smile)! They did have good sound especially
when recordings were on 33 and a third speed and twelve inch records were
used. The new NLS player despite its size really has nice sound!

Hello all!

Last summer, I did see the NLS player! It reminded me of those big tube players I used so many years ago! It really had excellent sound quality
like those old tube players. I don't feel Seniors will be left out in
the
cold since special cartridges are being used which slide into the player
and
the book can be heard with daisy navigation and everything!

Like it or not, the PC or apple equivalent is the future! Perhaps a way will be found that the download could take place from the player. It is
really hard to say what may or may not happen! I do agree though! It
is
nice to be away from the PC to read.
