Hello Karen. This can easily be done with cursoring keys. While the app
is open, go to the WE panel and press alt-c for cursoring keys. Arrow
down to an undefined entry and tab to capture key and press space. Now
press the key you want to capture, EG, alt-n. Now tab to the first
action combo box and choose execute hot key. Tab once to the info button
and press space. You will be presented with a list of hot keys. You will
now need to arrow down to status line. The best way to get there is by
typing the letters s and t one right after the other. Once you choose
status line, press enter. You will be back in the cursoring dialog. Tab
to the list of keys and arrow down to the next undefined entry and do
the same for the other hot keys you want to auto-read the status line.
Once done, tab to the ok button and press enter. Save the set file,
accepting or choosing a name for the .000 file as you don't want to use
wineyes.000 and now when you press these keys, they will still be passed
onto the application, however Window-Eyes will also automatically read
the status line.
Hope this helps.

My son recently wrote me a very simple calendar program. It uses
control-p and control-n to go to the previous and next day, and alt-p
and alt-n to go to the previous and next month. The date appears on the
status line, which I can access using control-insert-s. I would prefer
to have the date read as I use the hot keys to move through the calendar.
Wonder if someone might be able to tell me how to accomplish this, please?
Thanks,
Karen Poulakos
