I can introduce you to nine in our training room here at work, 16 in the
public use area in our down town library, a PC that drives the projector
in several of our boardrooms across the region, shall I continue?

Often the computers we have at home or buy for personal use are not what
is being used in organizations that put out requests for volume
discounts. Bells and whistles are kept to a minimum. In addition those
keyboards, laptops, notebooks, and netbooks with additional controls on
or near the keyboards are not conforming to any standard that I've come
across.

How many computers these days come with keyboards that don't have audio
controls on them? I can't remember the last time I ran into one. Even
if you can't find mute, you can probably find volume up, which will
un-mute.
