You are totally missing my point.  One doesn't have to say good-bye to one 
screen reader to use another.
One doesn't necessarily have to look for another choice.  But what I am saying 
is that one has to be open to alternatives if they happen to be there.
That's all.  And, more germane to this thread:  a merchant takes a chance if 
they forego improvements to an existing product thinking that they can save 
costs by not working on certain issues.
If no one else fills that niche; they can; but if someone else does, then take 
the chance that users will explore alternatives.

And the nice thing with screen readers, you don't necessarily have to limit
