All I know is mine died, sat around for who knows how long until I heard about
yanking the battery, and wala, it was back in business, good as new.

But if the battery runs down and crashes, the Dectalks Power Supply is toast.

That's the deal with the DecTalk express. Once the battery is completely
dead it will not run on AC power until the battery is removed.

Try to take the battery out and see if it works on the AC power. If it
does, There is your DecTalk problem solved. You might want to search around for
a DecTalk express if you want one.

        Hi,
Yea! Its been around for a long time. The battery was already bad the
last time I used it and that was 7 or 8 years ago. I don’t even know why I kept
it this long.. I’ve been thinking of buying a new one just havn’t done it yet.

You should be able to use the converter to run the DoubleTalk. You
would have to check the status on the Dectalk though since the battery may not
be working anymore. You might be able to get a new battery built but, we are
talking over at least 16 years old for the DecTalk synthesizer that is an
express.

          Hi Pam,
I don’t know it’s an old one that I haven’t used in over 10 years.
I’ve got an old dectalk express but it hasn’t seen daylight in close
to 10 years too.

Can you use a converter to plug in your doubletalk? Pam.
